EEG CAP FOR DAILY APPLICATIONS
Project Scope

This project will focus on the design and construction of the EEG cap hardware. This includes the mechanical frame, the electrodes attached to the frame, the wires connecting the electrodes to the amplifier, and the interface of outgoing signals.

The time and resources available for this project in this semester does not allow further design on signal acquisition algorithms and graphic user interface, but the physical cap will provide a signal interface compatible with the mainstream EEG signal acquisition module (e.g. the NeuroSky EEG chip).

While the frame structure and mechanism will be novel, it is possible that ourteam uses market available electrodes and cables, if the construction meets the design specifications. Ourgroup will potentially include a first-stage amplifier circuit to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the external interface; however, the filter and other frequency-response analysis modules will not be included in the headset.

By the end of this semester, our team expects to have a polished physical headset with the majority of the components specified above installed, ready for on-head setup and raw signal detections.
